NEWS FROM ST MARY MAGDALEN- UPDATE ON BUILDING CLOSURE

Though these things seem to move incredibly slowly, we are making progress & it has become clear that as well as the urgent work to repair the ceiling, we also face doing considerable work on the tower.  Hopefully we will be able to get some idea of the total costs soon but it is not easy as it is incredible specialised work.  In order to fund the work we are going to be heavily dependent on grant aid and because of this the work will take a minimum of 3 years.  Meanwhile we are continuing to enjoy our worship week by week in Thorrington Village Hall.  You would be very welcome to join us!

Arrangements during the period of Closure

• ALL SERVICES WILL BE IN THE VILLAGE HALL – see service listing for any exceptions to this.

• LITTLE FISHES, the under 5s group, meets in the Village Hall.

• Any BAPTISMS can be either held in the Village Hall or be held at St Andrew’s in Alresford.

• Any WEDDINGS would need to be held at the church in an adjoining parish.

• Any FUNERALS where a church service is required will use St Andrew’s Alresford – the Churchyard is still open.
